Adhere Your Leaky Water Plastic Tank
Are you fed up of the leaky faucets, broken fixtures and other plumbing issues ? Homeowners generally rush towards hiring the plumber even for a little inconvenience. However, there are certain things that one can sort out by himself. Like for example a leaky plastic water tank.
Your leaky water tank simply means the wastage of water. Presently, when water has become a scarce resource, one should not ignore this and take appropriate measures to repair it as soon as possible. Also, repairing a leaky faucet is not a big deal and can be accomplished by even a common man. So, here are few steps one should take while repairing the hole in the water tank.
Fixing a leaky plastic water tank is very easy. You can repair the cracks and holes using an plastic epoxy which is as tough and firm as plastic welded repair.
To begin with, drain out all the water from the tank. Allow the tank to dry both from the inner and outer side. In order to even the affected surface, scrape it with the 100 grit sandpaper. This is done to make the area suitable to apply the epoxy.
Efforts should be made to further clean the leaky surface before applying the epoxy. For this, you can wipe off the leaky surface with the dry rag. Ensure, no debris is now accumulated on the hole or crack .
Next step is to mix the epoxy thoroughly as instructed in the instruction booklet. Apply it on the leaky part of the plastic water tank. Leave the set up for at least 20 minutes. This will harden the epoxy and will help in effective fixing of the leak.
There are times when the crack goes broader and deeper. Here, homeowners are required to place a fiber glass mesh on the crack and then apply the plastic epoxy.
You are now done up with the repairing process and the only thing left is to inspect the tank to ensure the hole is fixed or not. Fill in the water and check for any leaks and fissures. If the tank is perfectly alright, empty it again and let it dry before refilling it.
