Bonuses: The Key to Selling Ebooks Successfully
Bonuses are the secret sauce for selling ebooks or any information product (or physical product for that matter). People want extreme value for things they purchase and this is especially true with information products.
Your readers want to know that your ebook will deliver on its promises; they want great results and a product that works. Readers are naturally mistrustful of overblown claims, and want to be reassured - if they don’t trust in the value of your products, they won’t buy. You can overcome this tendency by including valuable bonus material, especially when the bonus material is worth more than the ebook itself.
When you add loads of valuable bonuses, your customers will be more likely to buy your PDF e-books - after all, with so many great bonuses, it’s a terrific bargain! Write a truly incredible e-book for your readers, then knock their socks off with added bonuses to encourage strong sales.
So what kind of bonuses can you add? Try giving free videos or audio clips, special reports, another PDF ebook - anything that fits with the topic of your ebook. As a general rule, include physical bonuses when selling physical products; digital bonuses should be included with digital products.
So where can you find quality bonus material at little or no cost to you?
First, go to Google and do a search for “(your topic) free ebook”. Recently, I found some great information by searching “asthma free ebook”. Not only did I find several free ebooks, but the authors were interested in viral marketing and offered to let me share their ebooks for free.
The one thing you must do is read the permission statement in the ebook to see if it’s okay to share it with others. Most free ebooks will give you permission to share, but not permission to sell. So, you want to offer it as a bonus in addition to your info product - not bundled in with your info product.
You can also find great bonuses by searching online directories. By doing a search for “article directories”, you can find thousands of online articles which may be added free as a bonus for your customers. Make sure that the author gets credit, including a brief bio and contact information at the bottom of the article. Two of my favorite sites include www.ezinearticles.com and www.articlecity.com, great sources for bonus material.
Find ten really good articles and compile them into a special report. You may even want to put your own commentary at the end just to personalize it a bit.
