What is Attraction Marketing

So I’m guessing you’ve either just started or looking around at a business in Direct Sales, Network Marketing or MLM.

What do you do now?

Gone are the days of cold-calling, making lists, hassling family members and generally alienating yourself from everyone you know and care about. In the last few years, there has been a small revolution in the Network Marketing arena. And the new game is called “Attraction Marketing”

Attraction Marketing? What’s that?

Well, as the name suggests, it’s all about “Attracting” people to you.

In the past, you were told that everyone is a prospect. You were told to talk to anyone and everyone to try and get them to join your business. As anyone who’s been around for a while will know; this is not the case and in fact it’s a really good way to get very demoralised very quickly.

What you need to do is find people that want to change their lives or are looking for a business to join. Even better you want these people to find you!

Attraction Marketing is all about putting yourself out on the web so that these types of people CAN find you.

Your aim is to put yourself out there and make yourself an expert on a topic of your choice. People will then find you and you will start the relationship by building trust and respect from them to you. They will then see you as someone who can help them gain the personal, financial, or time freedom they have been looking for.

They then contact YOU.

This will put you in a far greater position than if you contacted them first.

The person who makes the initial contact is always going to be in a weaker position. When someone contacts you first, it gives you a position of authority. Making your job much easier. No longer are you trying to convince anyone to join you and your company. You are now interviewing people to see if they are good enough to be a part of your team.

Can you see the benefits of using this approach?

It is only through providing great content that this will work.

A common mistake made at this point is that people get caught up in trying to make a sale. The key to this working is that the content you put out MUST enrich the lives of the people who are going to see it. Thus putting you in the position of the advisor. If you just put out thinly veiled sales pitches, people will see straight through it and you’ll be back where you started.

“But what if you’re not an expert at anything?” I hear you asking…

Wrong.

I know that there is something that you know more about that your family and friends. This is an area you are an expert in and it is what you will start with. Even if it’s “Simple tips on how to keep your house clean when you have kids.”

As you progress through your business you will realise how much you do actually know and you will be able to create content that is more useful and better targeted.

Now it’s time for you to brainstorm ideas for content. Find a nice quiet place, take a blank page and pen and start writing.
